Our family-run hotel, the Hotel Residenz Immenhof is located in the beautiful wine-growing village of Maikammer. We are surrounded by vines, wine and forest. A beautiful region with a variety of nature experiences. Here you can feel the joy of life and feel good. Our house is surrounded by a lovingly designed garden with many Mediterranean plants, which thrive wonderfully due to the mild climate with us.

Our house was opened in 1984 by Norbert and Angela Freudenstein and is now continued by the two daughters Patricia and Jennifer with their husbands Dieter Kaub (chef) and Oliver Arar (restaurant manager). We all live the motto "we love having guests for life". This lives the whole Immenhof team and the family. We put a lot of emphasis on well-being, for our guests, but also for our team. We are like a big family, we listen to each other, are there for each other and the appreciation of each individual is very important to us and that is also sustainability for us. The mindfulness of his fellow men, colleagues, guests towards, that must be an important good for everyone! We as a family put our hearts into our work and the whole Immenhof team embodies this every day anew. Our guests feel comfortable, they can switch off and enjoy.

Sustainable cuisine

Sustainability is also lived in the kitchen, we buy eggs, rolls, asparagus, wine and much more from various regional producers. Many herbs that end up on our plates come from our own herb garden and even the pastries for coffee we bake ourselves.

Sustainable construction

Our goal is to do something for our ecological footprint every day. We take great care to save energy, e.g. the kitchen appliances are only switched on when they are needed. There are motion detectors everywhere in the house, all lamps have been converted to LED and the air conditioners only come on when the balcony door is closed. Norbert Freudenstein had a combined heat and power unit and a heat pump installed back in 2013. For many years, he has been concerned about saving energy and using it consciously. Sustainable lifestyle

We have found that sustainability is not difficult and actually Immenhof has been living this for a very long time, but we were not always aware of it. But that is exactly what sustainability is for us, living consciously, with our resources, but also with our fellow human beings and we try to embody that every day. Our big goal or challenge is to become more and more conscious and to tackle the challenges that the future brings us!

Sustainable waste separation

• At the hotel, we pay close attention to our waste separation system and train new employees on how to separate waste correctly.

• We avoid portion packaging for food as far as possible.
• We offer cleaning and care products in dispensers in the rooms and public areas.
• In the spa area, loungers are covered with washable towels and not with paper rolls.
• Only reusable cups are provided in the drinks area.
• The application products required in the spa area are ordered in large canisters and decanted into reusable small containers on site.
• Our partner in the cosmetics sector, Malu Wilz, is also very keen to reduce packaging material

• We and our employees make sure that we print very little every day and, if necessary, use scratch paper or print on both sides.

• We also try to send as many invoices as possible by e-mail
• Our aim is to donate old pieces of furniture to various institutions or we ask who can use something.

• Our food waste is collected separately and converted into gas in a biogas plant and then converted into electricity by a combined heat and power plant.

• When purchasing our products, we make sure that the suppliers are located within a radius of ≤ 100 km from our site. This cannot always be achieved, but it works for the majority of our products. • The family business Textilpflege Hoffmann GmbH is a long-standing partner. We can only speak of a sustainable partnership here, the mutual loyalty, support and faithfulness speaks for itself, as does the distance of 27 km. We have all our laundry such as pillows, blankets, sheets and restaurant linen cleaned and ironed by the Hoffmann family.
• We are in constant communication with our suppliers about how they live sustainability and to what extent we can adopt this in our company.
• We buy environmentally friendly care and cosmetic products. The packaging of our shower gels, soaps and body lotions can be recycled and are environmentally friendly care and cosmetic products. With our Malu Wilz cosmetic products, great importance is attached to reducing the packaging. The products are not repackaged in cardboard boxes and the inner part of the face creams can be replaced in future so that the jar can be reused.
• We source our wines exclusively from regional producers.
• On our menu we are always careful to offer different vegetarian dishes and we also have various dishes for our vegan guests to choose from.
• If booked in advance, we also offer a selection of vegan alternatives for breakfast. When making a reservation, each guest receives a wish list in which we ask whether they would like a vegetarian or vegan diet.
• We pay attention to seasonal products when shopping, which is of course reflected in our menu and our pampering board.
• The proportion of convenience food is kept as low as possible.
• The hotel carefully organizes the purchase of consumables and disposable items, including food, to minimize waste.
